Spring Summers Hot Hot Hot Colour is Orange. We are seeing it everywhere. From tangerine to neon to coral, orange is featuring in everything. Taifun arrived with infusions of oranges, perfect for communions, christenings, holy communions, confirmations, you name it..Pick the right shade. Go for a hue that best suits your skin tone. Soft corals suit pale skins whereas darker complexions can wear the bolder shades. Airfield this season have designed an amazing bright orange shift dress that has the most amazing shape. Perfect for most body shapes. However, Lily has seen to create the softer colours.

Keep it simple. Pick one key orange piece, such as a top or dress, and pair it with whites, browns, stones and blacks. Or for true fashionistas, go for bolder colour blocking by combining an orange top with pink trousers, one of the key looks from the catwalk. Marc Aurel this season has designed a bold pink chiffon blouse with orange underneath. If you don’t feel daring enough to wear the bright colours, why not introduce it by wearing orange nail polish. Dreaming of…Candy

This Spring/Summer ’12 we will be dreaming of Candy. Nicky Minaj will love this one. On the catwalks we are seeing girly, feminine and floaty shapes with all the flavours of candy and ice-cream. Mint Greens, Vanilla, Mocha and strawberry. I’ll have them all please.Yum!

Louis Vuitton and Mulberry in their ad campaigns have both shown candy themed designs.

Sassy Style..Yessssss!!Spring Season is here!

Okay ladies.. who is with me when I say “I am sick to death of looking at sale tags and sale rails” ?! Out with the old and in with the new.. Pronto!

Spring ’12 is predicting many different style and trends, some that make me feel very happy. O Donnell Boutique is really looking forward to showcasing some of their Spring ’12 designs. The next few weeks are going to be very exciting.

A very feminine and attractive trend this season is Floral print. Isabel de Pedro, one of our favourite Spanish designers is bang on trend. Here is a sneak preview of her collection. Green + floral = Stunning!

This is my favourite trend for this season. You may have seen it last season on chiffon blouses and dresses but it is going to be everywhere this season… Animal Print . Take note, it’s not the usual leopard that has been with us already and which some might love or hate. It is even trendier, featuring cats, birds ( especially owls), horses, lizards, you name it! Our French brand “Lily” loves this. Victoria Beckham showcased her Spring/ Summer ’12 Collection and featured this trend. See image below.

This Puffa Coat from Lily Collection is my favourite Spring ’12 item in the whole store.

O Donnell Boutique, one of Limericks and Munsters most reknowned boutiques started to stock this brand a year ago and within that year, the collections have shown so many cute, girly but yet very stylish designs. This humble padded jacket has made its impact already and its only in the shop less than a week.
Creating a stir on Mandy our Mannequin as people walk past the shop window. Think less bulk, and more nipping at the waist ( A must have for a puffa). You don’t exactly want to look like the Michelin Man.

This Lily is feather and down with a real rabbit fur collar. The essence of glamour. Beautifully Light in weight but OH SO WARM! Retailing at €490 ( Expensive but well worth the spend, it is one that could come out of the wardrobe again and again)

These little beauties are dresses that will take you anywhere.

I have this style in the red and they wash like a dream… no ironing needed either. The fabric is fantastic.

Forties Glamour at O’ Donnell Boutique

Forties glamour is really standing out for this Autumn/Winter 2011-12. The likes of Jean Paul Gaultier and Donna Karan have ushered in a season of sheer Forties glamour, complete with furs, pearls, gloves and shrugs- all revolving around the pencil skirt.

Shopping online and instore at O’ Donnells, Spanish designer Isabel de Pedro has really influenced the 40’s style into her collection this season. With her trademark pencil skirt and sexy tailored suits, empowerment of women has really shone through. This Masculine V Feminine. Black being the dominant colour in her “Rock and Roll” theme; reds, greys and a very unusual mustard colour are also featuring.

It is all about longer hem lengths, so make sure yours is at least knee length.

Don’t be afraid to mix in heavier fabrics like tweed and leather when it gets colder.

This look is figure- flattering fabulous.
